With an aim to introduce the world's most famous branded fragrances to potential consumers and create a market segment for the branded perfumes in the Bangladesh market, Bangla Perfumes Distributors Ltd. Launched its largest perfumery chain in Bangladesh, Perfume World, back in early 2009. At present, Bangla Perfumes has nine outlets of Perfume World in the biggest shopping malls in Dhaka, Chittagong & Sylhet. Perfume World is a completely customized perfumery retail business of Bangla Perfumes Distributors Ltd.

Bangla Perfumes Distributors Limited (BPDL), the leading brand fragrance distributor in Bangladesh, started its journey in 1998. Since its establishment, Bangla Perfumes Distributors has achieved the position of a pioneer in distributing the world's famous branded perfumes in Bangladesh. After the establishment, BPDL is catering to the potential consumers of the country with renowned premium and luxury fragrances imported officially direct from the manufacturers and has been distributing professionally.


However, despite having a retail presence through the retail chain, Perfume World, the company lacked an online presence. nopStation helped build its first eCommerce platform in 2021, including an AWS Cloud hosting solution. It allowed them to create an online presence and an identity as a perfume retailer brand in the online arena. The newly created eCommerce platform, with its stunning look & feel, helped them build their brand value, bring a whole new shopping experience for its loyal customers, and reach the new customers who want to shop using the convenience of online shopping.


Even though Perfume World is a leading perfume retail brand, backed by a leading perfume distributor, Bangla Perfumes Distributors Ltd, it lacked the eCommerce presence and a platform to justify its role as a new point-of-sales for the continuously growing online customer segment.

Perfume World's challenge was to, of course, start their online sales, but to also establish a solid digital identity and attract customers online. Being an eCommerce solution for the elite segment of the customers, the brand presented a pretty good design and build challenge on top of default nopCommerce.

Our Solution

After careful analysis of Perfume World's needs and goals, considering the amount of design and build effort, team nopStation concluded that the nopCommerce platform, apparel ecommerce software, would be the best fit for the brand's eCommerce platform. In addition, the fashion brand understood that the purchasing trends were shifting increasingly to online platforms; they needed to create their own online presence in the online retail fan space. So they agreed with our proposal to develop their eCommerce solution using the nopCommerce platform.


With our team's efforts, including the efforts from our technical leads and cloud architects, we built an eCommerce solution with features that include:

The application is hosted on a custom AWS infra on Linux Server, backed by MySQL Database in AWS RDS, in a multi-tier architecture — which helped the client reduce the hosting cost several times less than a typical Windows hosting costs on AWS Cloud. Additionally, we integrated the AWS CloudFront with the store to offload the image serving load from S3.

We have also implemented a store locator feature with Google Maps API Integration. This helped the business bring the potential customers to the actual physical stores from the online store.

We provided proper consultation throughout our engagement that helped the brand to create its identity to its online fanbase in Bangladesh successfully.
