A Brief Background on Savanna

Savanna is a Qatar-based boutique business dedicated to bringing joy and beauty to every occasion through their passion for flowers. Challenges

Savanna partnered with nopStation, a Gold partner of nopCommerce, to assist in their digital transformation journey by developing a website and mobile app that reflected their brand identity. Key development challenges that the team faced:

Developing a UX-focused user journey: As a boutique business, Savanna places a strong emphasis on design and user experience. It was important to identify key stylistic preferences and craft a user journey that aligned with their customer base and brand identity.

Expanding their user reach to mobile: In addition to the website, they needed mobile apps that complemented their website while maintaining a consistent feature set and user experience.

Creating an optimized search and filter experience: Savanna wanted their new site to have an optimized search and filtering experience to help customers easily find products in just a few clicks.

Simplifying the customer registration & onboarding: As most users in their region do not have an email account, they wanted the registration process to use phone number and OTP as the primary method. They also wanted to have support for external authentication through Facebook & Google as well.

Adding support for product customizations: Many of their boutique packages include customization and personalization options. Savanna wanted to replicate this personalized shopping experience online.

Optimizing inventory management: They required a customized inventory management process to sell bundles consisting of multiple items while adjusting stock levels for individual items.

Adding personalization options in checkout: Similar to product customization, the checkout process also required personalization options. Customers needed the ability to specify messages, cards, and additional products to include with their orders.

Adding support for delivery slots: To optimize the delivery and logistics of their operations, they wanted to have the option of delivery slots based on capacity to ensure smoother logistics and properly manage shipments.

Integrating support for Sadad payment: As a Qatar-based business, Savanna required online payment integration with Sadad, a popular local payment service.

Adding a "Partner with Us" section: As their business expanded and established partnerships, Savanna wanted a dedicated feature where prospective partners could sign up.

Integrating client testimonials: To enhance brand credibility, Savanna wanted to showcase key client reviews and feedback on their homepage.

Adding a careers feature: To streamline their hiring and recruitment processes, Savanna wanted the ability to create and manage job postings on their website.

Crafting a Storefront UX and theme aligned with Savanna’s brand: A visually appealing storefront theme was designed and developed, tailored to Savanna’s brand identity. The theme is minimal and visually appealing, suited to highlight their boutique and gift-based products. Savanna can easily manage app storefront and homepage content from the nopCommerce backend, ensuring a unified and consistent user experience across platforms.

Advanced filtering: An optimized search and filtering system was implemented using a customized AJAX filter plugin. The filtering section is shared across the search and catalog sections to provide a smooth product discovery experience.

Phone number and external authentication-based registration & login: The phone number-based registration process was implemented on the storefront, as well as registration through Google and Facebook external authentication.

Custom product personalization: A "Make It Extra Special" feature was introduced that allows customers to add customizations such as cards and user-generated messages to their orders. This feature enhances personalization while also driving cross-sales and increasing basket value.
