The nopStation Point of Sale (POS) plugin for nopCommerce is designed to bridge that gap. It connects your physical store directly with your nopCommerce online store, so you manage sales, stock, customers and payments from one system.

In brief

Each sale is saved as a standard nopCommerce order, marked as paid, with stock taken from the warehouse linked to the POS store.
Cashiers use a touch-friendly screen with barcode search, split payments, invoice types and QR receipts.
The admin adds suppliers, purchases, purchase returns, expenses, units, kitchens, invoice types and payment options.
It needs the Nop-Station Core and tax plugins. Not included today: reward points, gift cards and offline use.

From the first scan to the receipt

A cashier signs in, sells from the POS screen, and the sale appears in nopCommerce like any other order.

At the counter

One screen for the whole sale

Add products: search by barcode or name, or tap a product.
Take payment: cash, card or mobile, or split the sale across payment options.
Hold and restore: park a ticket and come back to it from the customer queue.

Behind the scenes

Connected to nopCommerce

Normal orders: every sale is a standard nopCommerce order you can manage in the admin.
Stock: sales reduce the POS warehouse. Purchases add stock when received.
Receipts: an 80 mm receipt with a QR code, and a PDF invoice.

Install the plugins
Nop-Station Core, then Calculate tax by category percentage, then POS System.
Set up the POS store
Choose the store type and warehouse, and add the store's contact details.

Add cashiers as POS users with their store and permissions.

Answers to what store owners ask before they choose the POS plugin.

Ask us directly

Which plugins do I need to install first?

Install Nop-Station Core and Calculate tax by category percentage first, then POS System. Mark the tax plugin as the primary tax provider if you want POS sales taxed by category percentage.

Can I use more than one POS workstation in the same store?

Yes. Create a separate POS user for each workstation and assign them all to the same store. Each POS user keeps their own open ticket, so two workstations that share one login would share the same ticket.

Can the POS use a specific warehouse?

Yes. Each POS store sells from one warehouse, chosen in the POS Store panel on the store's edit page. Sales reduce that warehouse's stock, and one warehouse can serve only one POS store. nopCommerce adds up the stock of all warehouses for the online store, so units kept in the POS warehouse also count as available online.

Does the POS support reward points, gift cards or offline use?

Not at the moment. The POS does not award or redeem reward points, gift cards cannot be sold or redeemed at checkout, and there is no offline mode because the POS runs inside your nopCommerce site.

How do returns work?

Click Return on an order in the Order List, then choose the items, quantities, reason and action. This creates a nopCommerce return request with the status Pending and sends the usual notifications. Your staff then handle any refund or credit in the admin area. The POS does not refund money or issue store credit by itself.

Which barcode scanners and receipt printers can I use?

Scanners that work like a keyboard, which includes most USB scanners, can be used in the Search Barcode box, which finds a product by SKU, GTIN or name. Receipts open as an 80 mm wide web page and print through the browser's print dialog, so any printer installed on the computer works. Barcode labels come from the separate Generate Product Barcode plugin. We recommend a quick test with your own devices.
